Why was it started?
It was started to serve as a bridge between what’s learned in the classroom and what happens in the business world. As part of the Sheffield Company, it serves to help aspiring professionals and customers gain insights into best practices from the front lines of effective communication strategies.
Who does it help?
It serves corporations, government agencies and non-profit organizations, as well as aspiring professionals that are either recent college graduates or still pursuing a degree.
What programs does the Institute offer to corporations, government agencies and non profits?
The Sheffield Institute provides professional development courses that touch a variety of relevant topics such as strategic communications, narrative messaging, selling with stories, social media, and active listening. The courses provide deeper insights and proven experience in areas that effect how professionals communicate efficiently and effectively in the information economy. Seminars typically last 1-3 days and are designed for small groups (5-25). The seminars are constantly evolving as we expand our base of mentors and clients.
